Basketball

Iowa Basketball has a histroy that is rich in winning. The mens team started in 1901, while the womans started in 1974. Both teams have been competitive and have produced many stars. Multiple Big Ten Championships and Final Four apperences have marked some teams in the history books.

Iowa Mens Basketball has been a great power in the Big Ten. With 3 Final Four apperences, 1 NCAA Final apperence, and 3 Big Ten Championships. Iowa has seen a fair share of great teams and great Coaches. The Faboulus Five being the most notable, reaching back to back Final Fours. Many of these players on the team would play in the 1956 Olympics. The current coach is Fran McCaffery, he has a .594 winning precentage. Iowa Mens Basketball has an overall .590 win precentage with a record of 1,756-1,219-1

Iowa Womans Basketball has been one of the most competitive teams in NCAA ever since it was established. They have made it to 3 NCAA Final Fours, 2 NCAA Finals, and have been the Big Ten Champions 6 times. Iowa has had some of the best teams collage has seen, but the most recent great teams were between 2023 and 2024. Both these teams made it to the NCAA Finals, even though they came up short they have left a mark on the basketball world. One player stuck out, Caitlin Clark.
